IMF-WB 3
it was a long event yesterday cos there were 2 level 5 events going on (meaning the highest security needed) at Suntec and Istana (probably a dinner at Istana by the host)! only managed to scale down at 11pm and reached back camp at 11.30pm. So in the evening we had to move from Suntec to national stadium for standby. there were some sudden changes of plan here and there.. so confusing.. initially we (team 1) were supposed to standby in Mackenzie carpark in the evening, then we were told to scale down in nee soon, then latest info was to standby in national stadium! sighz.. i guess that's how ops works, ever-changing plans based on situations seen by higher grounds. but the standby at national stadium was really not bad- not that castrophobic, and more freedom to move around, and better food! buffet style, compared to our packed lunch in suntec =(*
the AOR for CMC COC was finally in progress for approval despite the fact that it is like 2 weeks away! i submitted my 7th draft last friday, signed by higher authorities and ready for submission to approving authority. Cost almost to 10K for a change-of-command ceremony!! though eventually we cut it down to 7K (which is still kind of steep for approval).
anyway, the point i wanted to make here is at the end of the day, my 7th draft ends up similar to my 1st draft! and i think this is the way it works, be it in the military or other organisations. After all the vetting and correction by different personnel of different hierarchy, there will be so many changes, till the last final highest chair's agreement. Which is why i always keep my older drafts of document and i sort of anticipated this anyway. but the giss is, why can't all relevant personnel sit down and vet/discuss everything together? well, may be difficult to gather, but if meetings can be arranged, i dun see why an hour's time can't be fished out. cos eventually, time will be wasted. my time.
