The time of the year
The year is coming to an end, and it is indeed a very eventful year, and perhaps one of the most eventful years. For one, I am no longer in my twenties. It's a year which i have been through the ups and downs of life, the saddest and happiest moment; and i am glad that it concludes with great news. I have been trying to find time to pen down my thoughts, but somehow the inspiration was not there till today. It is also a time when i try to summarise and look back what i have ventured thus far, so bear with me if it gets too lengthy.~
First, I have finally cleared one of the most important exams in my life - the MRCP(UK) (other than PSLE, O lvl, A lvl and final MBBS). All these exams that i have mentioned do play important roles in terms of advancement of further education, and later career. It was a tough journey, i am sure those who went through will agree with me. As compared to those earlier exams, this is one that requires 天时地利人和。 U can't know everything to pass the exam; yet u can know little to pass it. In any case, it was an expensive, painful, tiring, time-consuming, demoralising, mind-torturing, not-the-fairest and getting-harder-and-harder-to-pass exam, and i am glad that this is history. To commemorate this, I got myself a present =) which serves as my xmas present too!

The effect of passing the exams also means that I have completed my BST training. The effect of completing my BST also means that I need to apply for AST, which I did earlier. I applied geriatrics and went for the interview. The effect of applying for AST means I will get it, and the effect of entering into AST marks the end of me being a MO, or MOT for that matter (and yes, I am relieved to leave MOH Holdings). And this marks the beginning of a new appointment, undergoing further training to become a geriatrician.

The overseas ICT. This is the first time that I have my high key ICT, and it has to be Ex Wallaby (7 Nov - 25 Nov) in Australia.
Initially wanted to defer in view of my exams and work commitments, but it was rejected! That was a blessing in disguise I must say, because i kind of enjoy it! I will not blog about what happened there (not supposed to anyway. and i have written a separate diary for that), but through it, I have understood the exercise better, led a different kind of lifestyle for 3 weeks, made new friends and added a new chapter to my life experiences.

The annual family overseas trip. I was comtemplating whether I should apply leave and go somewhere outside Singapore with my family, as exam was round the corner that time (3 months prior). After seeking various advice from friends, I eventually did, and we went to Shanghai for 1 week. It was prior to the Shanghai Expo season so we got quite a number of such souvenirs. We ate hell a lot of delicacies and I guess I don't regret my decision. It has always been my wish (ever since I started working and earn decently) to bring my family out at least once a year. Perhaps as a form of gratitude for everything.

There are others which are probably not too appropriate to put here at this juncture. Whatever it is, I do treasure every moment, despite things may have turned out differently, contrary to what would be expected.
This briefly sums up the happenings of the year. I hope that subsequent years would only be better. To a great 2011!
