General elections 2006

http://www.asiaone.com.sg/specials/ge2006/map.html

So the time has come again after so long.. and it's time to meet our MP once every 5 years too, ie along the streets giving out pamphlets and stuff for mass propaganda. Anyway this time round it's a walkover for my GRC, so no chance to make my choice =(. but even if there will be one, choice will be quite apparent for me i guess and i am quite satisfied till now.

Interestingly, while PAP is busy drawing votes, so far i haven't seen any opposition party yet. Visited the a/m website and shockingly, we can't see some of the photos of the opposition parties! and even more shockingly, their ages are "unknown". Gosh. at least do some research first b4 publishing on website rite... or at least the oppos should make themselves more well known.

Anyway, according to manpower ministry, we will have a day off in view of election day =)

F***-up

Well, this is really a f***-up company to work in I reckon. I wonder why people want to remain here. Either they are plain stupid or mad; or some straight-As.

How can anyone cancel meeting on the day itself at 1.40pm when meeting is at 2.30pm?! And the reason given is “due to unforeseen circumstances”. Not very appropriate right. And I have to travel like 12 km away for the meeting mind u. Idiotic. Skarly before i knew it, when i reach my workplace tomorrow, they are going to tell me that meeting is in 10 mins time.

Poor planning. Or should i say no planning.

dinner meet-ups

the past week has been quite a fruitful and eventful one for me, minus the 2 calls/duties that i have to do Met up with a number of people for dinner, and these are people whom i have not met for x months, where x is between 6 and 24. Yea it's that long, ranging from primary school friends to secondary to colleagues. Kinda interesting, to keep one another updated about lives (and yup, mine seems to be the most sucky, boring, mundane etc- at least that's what i feel =p). congrats to those who have made life achievements since we last met, and to the rest, push on!

and i think we should have more of such gatherings, though if the group gets too big, it becomes hard to organise...

chanced upon this article in the Sunday Times today about a young patient (around 20 years old) who has CA tougue. Quite an advanced stage. Quite rare too in the general population. Sighzzz sad eh; I remembered i read about it too last year and in today's news, it seems that the illness has taken a downturn... but i was rather touched and impressed by her strong determination and courage to live life on, from what i read from her blog. I wish her the best and may suffering be alleviated to the minimum.

logically...

I met up with my old friends tonight for dinner but unfortunately one (let's call A) did not turn up despite this being planned quite some time back. A little background about A- well A tries to sell out some products previously to us individually but to no avail. So why did A not turn up this time round?

The answer given was there is another appointment.

And my answer, logically, is that it's just an excuse to avoid embarassment. After all, isn't this gathering being planned already? so by right, the other appointment should be turned down, unless it is really so important.

But my friend was saying that i always have the presumption in a negative way. Always, since young. but wasn't that logical?

strange

I had a very strange encounter today. My mum has ordered vitagen, so every tuesday the auntie will come around evening time and hand-delivered them to my place. I was home quite early today, so managed to catch the auntie in action. I heard her knocking on my door and so i asked my mum to open the door, but when my mum looked through the hole, there was nobody! It was just like 5 seconds and i wondered where the auntie, with her trolley of vitagen would have gone to so fast. Anyway, after about 5 mins, i heard the knock again. I looked through the hole and the auntie was there with her trolley. So i called my mum to come and open the door again while i proceeded back to my room. (dun ask me why i dun want to open the door myself). When my mum came, the auntie disappeared again! and i tot i was seeing things...

anyway, eventually she called up and said how come no one answered the door when she came. and i still dunno how she managed to drift away so fast.... strange.

~today is just the beginning...~
