today is the NDP preview and we are on high alert. and i just heard the fireworks.. sounds so distant.
we had a branch outing 2 days ago at ktv party world after work. it's been quite a long while since i last went; anyway i am not those who frequents. it is supposed to celebrate my research assistant's ORD in 2 weeks' time and my admin clerk who has found another job in another branch, though still within HQMC.
Still remembered that my research assistant reports to our department the same day as me (it so happens that their combat medic course passing-out date is around the same period as our MOCC). and he ORDs before me!! cos he belongs to the new scheme where he only needs to serve 2 years of NS whereas we have to serve 2.5 years.
anyway, it's probably the worst time to go KTV, since i am still having my cough/ST and my gum stil hurts at times 1week post-extraction. but then again, we dun really have other opportune time. The 4 hours passed by quite fast and post-session, my throat is sorer than ever =(
well some people may throw eggs at me when i post this. but this song really captivates me even till now. and i remember fann protrays the 2 characters well! she looks cool as the bad character, yet innocent and sweet as the good one....
just when i thought my oral wound is recovering, it starts to hurt again. the swelling has subsided, and initially i just felt uneasy with the stitch still in-situ. today i have decided to take duck rice and began to bite using my right side (the side where i had the teeth removed). so now i felt quite sore over this affected side damn.
and not to mention that i am down with flu (AGAIN!).. must be viral, cos i have just completed my course of antibiotics for my dental extraction. must have either got it from home (my sis just recovered) or the patients. seems like i can't get away with taking medications.
well i am not really a super fan of harry potter, though fantasy-related stuff does fascinate me. i got the free tickets for the fifth episode- harry potter and the order of the phoenix 2 days ago, thanks to em. yeah sneak preview! but the cinema seats are not very comfortable, and the screen time is shorter than i have expected: 136mins.
I found this episode not as impressive as previous ones. and from the reviews that i have heard, those who have read the books before watching would probably be disappointed. The most interesting scene would be the appearance of Prof Dolores Umbridge who protrays as someone from the ministry to keep an eye on Hogwarts. The pink overalls does add colour to the otherwise dull surroundings. and i missed her evil laugh =)
the appointment date has finally arrived. 9 July 07. and i lost my appointment card and the letter for surgery!! but anyway i still went ahead to have my right wisdom teeth removed, together with one pre-molar which was misaligned. Damn scary and traumatic experience really. The lower right wisdom tooth was unerupted and required surgery.
when the local anaesthetics wore off, it was so painful! i swear that it is probably the most terrible pain that i have ever experienced, and it radiates to my head too. i took ponstan, famotidine, danzen, amoxil and panadol. haven't been taking so many medicine for quite some time..
And the post-op swelling was rather bad and obvious. sighzzz really hope i will recover soon.
Organised by Head DMSO, this gathering at no-signboard @ vivocity was successfully made to reality... and i so miss the chilli crab.. yummy yummy =) and all great meals must come with great desserts and conversation, and so we had ben & jerry after that. conversation wise.. hmmm i din seem to gain much sensational news eh.
oh yes, today is earth day. supposed to wear green for the gathering but eventually, i am the only one wearing =( seems like i am the only one who care (for mother earth) haha.
went for my dermato review to see the result of my punch biopsy. Lichen Simplex Chronicus. in layman term, it means my itchy hand kept scratching my itchy leg till the skin becomes hardened and scaly and more itchy.
and i was given a steroid cream. so actually at the end of the day, i dun really have to go for my derm appt after all becos i can treat myself. but like most of us, i believe in arriving at a definitive diagnosis. at least i can have a piece of mind that it is not.. well.. mitotic.=p
do a google search on images of "Lichen Simple Chronicus" and realise that mine wasn't that bad really. The closest that i get is probably this - i.e. only one of these spots, not ALL.
in this organisation, every once in a while, there will be cohesion day/family day/retreat etc etc. so our boss's boss (ie smso) decides to organise a movie outing on thursday at amk hub (i din know that ang mo kio hub has cinema till that day.. it's a branch of cathay). and we are watching transformers! yup as mentioned i have watched it earlier, but i dun mind watching again esp when: it is free it helps to enhance cohesion it is half a day off for us i happened to be free on that evening
Also, there are also new findings when u watch movie the 2nd time, or catch the part where u missed the first time when u r trying to reply a sms. So at the end of the day, the response to the cohesion day was not surprisingly overwhelming. everybody from my branch turned up except for one who was on overseas leave. i think at least 38 people turned up. yupz that's illegal gathering.
felt so bloated after eating the popcorn. sigh i am probably not suitable to have popcorns.
yesterday was sunday aka family day, so we went out for a movie at vivocity (again yes.. cos it is one of the more convenient place to go i think. and new theatre is always a plus point, and discount in GV for SAFRA card holder).
quite nostalgic cos it was during my era when these cartoons were on air, together with smurfs, care bears, GI Joe, silverhawk, TMNT, etc. i still remembered there used to be "sunday morning singapore" when all kids will wake up damn early in the morning to catch cartoons. then we will have macdonald breakfast. nice =)
can't exactly remember all the characters in transformer, probably only the commanders. i would think it is worth a catch.
* anyway i am doing dmso call again now. EOD every other day call. and once again, my calls are quite sucky. last sat i got overseas hospitalisation and today, i oredi got 4 admissions. hummmph =(
