among the piles
somehow, as u advance more (in terms of age), u tend to get more letters everyday and it has come to a point where i.. well.. tend to ignore some of them, or rather, i will just pile them up at a corner of my table and open them up when i am free. anyway i dun really have the habit of opening the letterbox (unless i am expecting something important), so it is usually my mother who will leave them on the table. these include mainly:1) bills (hp, internet, credit card, subscriptions...)
2) advertisements and newsletters (SMA, MOH, NUS, SAF, SAFRA, etc)
3) personal mails and govt letters
i was looking through the pile of mails recently and notice a mail which hadn't been opened (those that require u to tear along the dotted lines for 3 edges). it was a letter from NLB (national library board), and it is urging me to pay them the fines that i owed them ten years ago!
i know they distributed all these fine reminders in bulk.. but imagine the amount spent in order to make this mail delivered to me. definitely more than 10 cents!
