i have listed down a number of tasks for me to do during this one week break, which unfortunately i have only accomplished 50%. but i supposed i have settled the more important ones already.
Went to the zoo after so many years on tuesday. it was meant to be a one day event, followed by night safari at night. but we were all too tired towards evening and it started to rain, so we had to give night safari a miss. the zoo is still very much the same as far as i can remember. i like the open concept the most where the orang-utans and big birds are free to roam around. the carnivores are unsurprisingly lethargic in the day.
watcbed the 2 local productions - money not enough2 at lido and 12 lotus at cineleisure. i prefer the latter cos i like the songs! (although amazingly some similar songs appeared in both shows) The plot of "Money not enough" seems way too familiar - u become rich, u suddenly become poor, then u become better off again. both shows are touching in their own ways.
and i finally got my jazz repainted! after that time when i bumped into a bus. so now the ugly patch of SBS purplish stain is gone - for a price that is =(.
The ever first olympics medal since Singapore's independence! Well done Team Singapore for doing us proud!
I saw the match; the team from China is way too strong, which comprises the world's top 2 table-tennis players. I am sure in time to come, we will reach our goals and gold.
to myself! it is the time of the year for me to reflect what i have done over the past years, and one of the ways is to look through my entries in this blog. oh well, i dun really have the time now to look through, so i just glanced through the birthday months to see how things have progressed every august. I also tried my best to apply for leave during this period of the year ever since i started working, cos i hate to work on my birthday week. the only exception was in 2006, and yup those were the NSF days when i was involved in NDP standby and probably not too appropriate to apply for leave.
for the records on the significant event(s) that happened on my birthday other than the usual celeb with my family (as in case u think i have superb memory, well i dun.. i was just reading through what i have written back then..) : 2000: year 2 medical student. had a cake outside LT29 after which i left for my driving lesson. 2001: 21st birthday! 2002: family med posting. i probably had dinner with my friends. 2003: 5th year medical student. i watched "homerun" with my friend. 2004: my O&G HO days. i remembered i took leave. i had dinner with my O&G friends at swenson at jurong point (minus our common foe of course) 2005: my GRM MO days. i took leave. but i can't remember exactly what i did. 2006: my NSF days. didn't take leave. supposed to be on standby but my buddies in army took over my place so that i can rest on my bdae! 2007: still NSF days, but more lao jiao. i took leave and left the standbys for the younger ones haha. dinner @ secret garden. 2008: 4th year MO. dinner @ seafood paradise @ singapore flyer.
