pirates III

went to catch "Pirates of the Caribbrean - At World's End" last saturday. although not the premiere, at least it is within the first week since it was aired. we had to book the tickets a few days in advance cos we foresee that there will be a lot of people fighting to catch it! and we were right.. even through online booking, we can only catch the 5th row from the front.

quite a long show.. around 160+ minutes, so must clear your bladder before you enter the cinema. and got hidden scene behind the credits at the end of the show, so have to stay heh.. not too bad in terms of visual effects, though i find it quite lengthy in terms of conversation and .. well some parts seem a bit disjointed.

anyway i find the cinema seats getting more and more uncomfortable. the headrest seems too high for asian population, so most of the time my neck is half flexed. still find cathay cineleisure the best in terms of comfy, but too bad they dun have safra discount.

2 bosses

while the major reorg is still going on, some events that need to happen will have to happen. This includes posting out of personnel when they have finished serving their terms. anyway, now we have a new head (while actually not too new cos he was in HQ for quite a while oredi, but now reposted). before this, we have an interim new head. so now i have 2 heads! and that's not good...

just today alone i have meeting with 2 of them separately. somehow i dunno whether there is any communication between them or not. it's hard for me to explain here.. but apparently there are some overlap of work and responsibilities between the 2 bosses and unfortunately both of them have their own ideas.

and i dun think they really care who is doing the job as long as it gets done. and i find it quite paiseh to pass some of my stuff to my fellow colleagues at times. Thanks to those who offered to help, really appreciate that.

Work keeps piling up on both sides and i really dun have much bandwidth left =(
Think my life sux big time.

that's huge!

take a look at this!! the yellow truck is occupying the full whole lot! i wonder how the driver parked it in the first place. luckily my jazz wasn't anywhere near it. i tot vehicle of this sort shouldn't be allowed to park in the residential carpark? that's what the heavy vehicle carpark is for! I am going to send this photo to STOMP haha..

anyway the car park near my place is always filled with lorries, trucks, pick-ups.. not as heavy as the yellow one, but those beside it. well i reckon that these may be the transport means to provide income for some families, but too much of these really make parking quite difficult, especially for newbie like me =p. and btw, LTA should have painted these lots red for season parkers.

KL

this is gonna be sort of a journal entry just for me to revisit in future, so may not be too interesting i reckon.

back to work after a hiatus of 10 days. yup took 8 days of my annual leave to study for my exam in KL. just came back from KL yesterday with 3 of my friends. the paper was damn tough and i hope they will moderate the marks accordingly. i guess this will probably make me perturb for a couple of days sighz. but i guess the process of planning to go up to KL for exams together with your friends can be quite an enjoyable one.

left for KL on monday morning on the grassland coach and i was surprised that there wasn't any toilet. dammit! i tot we purposely booked one that has such facilities... and i remembered reading it off the website (which now has somehow disappeared) and the lady whom we called told us too. this sort of compromise the journey in a way.
reached times square at around 2pm; had lunch and checked in to this hotel crystal crown at pertaling jaya at quite a reasonable rate (4 of us squeezed into one room heh..)

next day was exam at 2pm and it lasted for 6 hours with a break in between. tiring man! and post-exam, don's uncle brought us for a sumptuous dinner - had chilli crabs and huge prawns! had some card games after that and slept at 4.

wed - woke up quite late; and till now i am still quite tired yawnzz. went to KLCC (equivalent to singapore's suntec) to shop and eat. went to this penang food outlet and taste quite yummy as compared to those served in the hotel restaurant. had fried kuay teow- my long-awaited craving hahah. took the 6h long coach back to golden mile complex and had dinner-supper there - some steamboat thingy.

so overall, other than the exam part, it is quite a nice break from office and work; and i think we should really organise more of such short trips in between months before we go back to hospital where opportunities are lesser.

the view outside our hotel room.. not too pictureque i know, but one thing for sure is that people staying in KL are generally quite well-to-do.

currently down with conjunctivitis. most likely bcos i slept with my contact lenses on yesterday. i tot the eye will recover after a few hours but apparently it is rather persistent. sighzz.

spidey3

managed to catch spiderman 3 over the weekend and wow it's really crowded everywhere! heard that it has broken the record held by pirates to be the top-rated box office hit on the first day. initially wanted to watch on saturday but apparently most of the places were rather full; so finally we booked online to watch in vivocity.

hmm more villains this time round compared with episode 1 and 2, but they dun really play very major roles. i can't remember having seen these beings in my younger days though.. perhaps i was too young then heh.. worth a watch i must say.

next show that i must watch would be pirates3! hope i can get some free tickets from safra =)

imeem.com

having brousing thru some of the blogsites, i discover this interesting website which enables u to embed the jukebox into your blogsite. i wonder will there be a breach of copyrights, but heckz. so here u have a long series of songs sung by none other than our very own home-grown singer heh. So blast your speaker, enjoy the reading and the songs =)

My third and final call of the week.
Seems to pass very fast!

the 64th MOCC was re-enlisted yesterday, which i believe was also the day where all the MOs move on to the next posting. This batch is supposed to be our understudies in time to come (i was from 61st), and that means the day of civilisation is approaching! yesh i can finally see the light! anyway aaron and i decided to take a peek at this new batch just to refresh the not-so-good memories heh. I was post-call so dun have to purposely come early. but sighz... JBL gave a long lecture to them so well we can't afford to wait for them to fall out so eventually we left for breakfast instead.

Ok back to the books. and i think i should deserve a bit of rest tmr. i want to watch spiderman 3!!

pre-labour day call

ok haven't gotten a chance to update this blogsite, and i know business cannot be used as an excuse. office work has been piling up, and i am glad that my comrade in project branch is finally back from his exam leave to share some of the burden, both physically and spiritually =).

Work aside, i guess we can never complain enough, and i believe it is the same everywhere and not just this organisation. so i shan't wince about it if possible, but that's hard.. If u haven't realised, 50% of these entries are work-related stuff. Quite pathetic.. it seems that my life is just revolving around work. This shouldn't be the case; we all promise ourselves that NS is the time for us to fulfill what we are unable to in the wards, achieve what we can't in our capacity as full-time paladins.. yet b4 i can even catch my breath, i have like not more than 6 months left in this organisation! Time flies ain't it?

Perhaps it is just human nature to complain of time constraints, and i really hope that i can at least accomplish some of the missions that i have tasked myself right from the beginning.. after my exams that is.

Talking about exams, i will be on leave next week to study for my exams. Yup actually one week will never be enough, well at least there is some protected time for me to consolidate my thoughts without been disturbed by people. Unfortunately, my productivity at home to study wasn't too great =(, but panic should be able to push me to work harder. Anyway i purposely put myself on call for 3 days this week, so that at least i can spend some time at night studying in camp (which is what i am doing now in the midst of listening to "wo huai nian de", reading my text and typing this.

Tmr is labour day. And i will need to do some mental labour too hiakz!
