1 year anniversary

exactly one year ago (and i still remembered vividly), we stepped into a new working environment, freshly passed out from our MOCC, not knowing what to do, and need to learn everything from scratch - regardless of whether u r posted to the units, base medical centres, or staff offices like yours truly. I must admit that it is quite painful at first... picking up all the new terms and acronyms (eg: "linked up", "estab", TOR, AOR, AOP, RAA, DTC, PGWC, JMC, RDMM, COC, MJOC, GSOC, DMSO...).

One year. may not seem to be very long, yet we witnessed quite a lot of events - various stand-bys, change of command of big boss, our fish died, conferences and workshops; and yup, picked up quite a lot of skills and knowledge; made friends and enemies (actually don't really have enemies.. just people around us who stay in the organisation long enough and yet we don't seem to know what they are doing except playing pool and drinking beer during happy hours).

One year. we began as the most junior people around in the cohort, to the most senior people. heh. "if you dunno anything, you can ask XX as he is already very experienced in this area..." i am hearing the same thing again during the briefing by my ex-boss to the new guys, just that now XX becomes my name!

And who knows, it is so coincidential that exactly one year later, we face a major reshuffle in the HQ. Besides having a new boss, a lot of KAH in the HQ are new too! Well i guess this is the trend in this organisation. people come and go. old ideas became new ideas. jobs generated remained unaccomplished. the turnover rate is just too fast for anyone to get accustomed, learn and bring forward. But i think i shouldn't be too bothered by this, cos after all, i am collecting allowrance, not salary. Despite the fact that we will be getting quite a lot of shit with this new reshuffle plan, the green countdown clock on my left is ticking and i know one day it will strike zero!

Nonetheless, i must agree that this one year is quite a fruitful and unforgetable one. something quite different from what i will be doing for the rest of my life. and i don't think i can complain joining this branch. Thanks to all the people around me whom i have lunch with, tok cock with, "wormed" around with - be it in the branch or within the HQ. u guys really make the life different!

stress level 7/10

so many things to keep me preoccupied!
1) lack of sleep
2) studies and exams
3) work
4) money

sianz.. i think the level of stress is directly proportional to the number of pimples on my face, and the number of pimples i have is directly proportional to the number of times of headache i have =(

apparently we just learn that tomorrow we will be having a new boss. this is so ridiculous, everything so last-minute.. always dun inform us of the major changes that are going to happen and we will have to find out for ourselves thru gossips and hear-says.. treat us like dirt.. so dun blame us if u get dirt-quality work... hummph.

s

there are 2 types of people- one is likeable; and the other is detestable. fortunately most of the people i know are likeable. unfortunately today i had an encounter with someone who probably can clinch the "most detestable person of the month". if not for the fact that i am in a rather errm compromised position, i wouldn't have let the matter rest in that way. u are such a farking s; and i pity your son to have tolerated your nonsense throughout his life. The encounter itself is classified as "confidential", so only if you are cleared category 2A and above then i can tell u heh heh =p

another revamp

yupz u din browse wrongly, this is holidae.blogspot.com.

since i have some spare time, i have decided to revamp my blogsite. new year, so new beginning heh =) think it has been quite a while since i last did that, and it is always good to look at something different for a change. and i have given it a theme this time round- which is quite obvious: army camouflage with main colour scheme of brown and green (green is supposed to be my lucky colour this year according to some feng shui master...), and a new pure white background as opposed to my previous black with starry sky. The only problem with the current one is that the main picture seems a bit loud and contrasting to the background... but i shan't edit it for now. no time for photoedit... will lighten it if i have the time later.

Happy CNY!

woooh just came back from the CNY visit.. darn tired! actually we din go to a lot of homes, but everywhere we went, there are a lot of people at their places - so need to interact and chit chat; and earn some cash =p. As the years go by, the idea of collecting ang baos no longer excites me as it used to. Maybe bcos i am now financially independent. but who really mind to have extra $$ =)

quite interesting to see so many people after so long. these are the group of relatives whom i believe i only see them once a year, and i am glad i still can recognise them - though the physical attribute may differ, the facial appearance still remains. But i am starting to lose track on how many kids each cousin has oredi, especially when they give birth in close proximity.

as usual the topic of interest will always wind round career, relationship and consultation. "where r u working now", "when r u going to work after ord", etc etc... and i think my answer is almost always the same hahaha.. not that i am not truthful, but the answer is really very much the same as last year! and amazingly, the parents will always talk non-stop - about themselves, about their children, gossiping about other relatives, etc. It's like an annual news update for me on my relatives, which is also one of the reasons why i always reserve the 1st day of CNY to pay visit with my family.

hmmm come to think of it, i have seen the majority of my relatives today oredi! maybe bcos we set off quite early today so we manage to catch some of them at the same place. so what should i do tmr...?

anyway, happy CNY!!! and enjoy these 3 days break while it lasts. (sigh though i'll have to start work on tuesday hummph)

ISO and virus

i remember last time all hospitals are trying to get JCI accreditation (which is the equivalent of ISO kinda thing), so the management will make an effort to make sure everyone knows what to do, what to say, etc when the auditors come. And i have to go thru this JCI accreditation 2x cos of my hospital posting rotation from NUH to AH (which both occurred during the time i was there).

Anyway currently, the organisation that i am in is also undergoing ISO, so they will be going to different departments to interview and check on people. But luckily they were not scheduled to come to our branch cos... well... ours kinda classified.

Yesterday there was a virus attack! not flu virus, but computer! so the whole OA system is down - meaning that we (we= includes everybody in the whole building, except the big big boss and one IT guy) can't check our emails, can't log in to our accounts, can't use our computers, can't work!!! maybe that's fate for us to rest during this festive season haha.. Yupz thatz Vdae for us =)
