1 year anniversary
exactly one year ago (and i still remembered vividly), we stepped into a new working environment, freshly passed out from our MOCC, not knowing what to do, and need to learn everything from scratch - regardless of whether u r posted to the units, base medical centres, or staff offices like yours truly. I must admit that it is quite painful at first... picking up all the new terms and acronyms (eg: "linked up", "estab", TOR, AOR, AOP, RAA, DTC, PGWC, JMC, RDMM, COC, MJOC, GSOC, DMSO...).One year. may not seem to be very long, yet we witnessed quite a lot of events - various stand-bys, change of command of big boss, our fish died, conferences and workshops; and yup, picked up quite a lot of skills and knowledge; made friends and enemies (actually don't really have enemies.. just people around us who stay in the organisation long enough and yet we don't seem to know what they are doing except playing pool and drinking beer during happy hours).
One year. we began as the most junior people around in the cohort, to the most senior people. heh. "if you dunno anything, you can ask XX as he is already very experienced in this area..." i am hearing the same thing again during the briefing by my ex-boss to the new guys, just that now XX becomes my name!
And who knows, it is so coincidential that exactly one year later, we face a major reshuffle in the HQ. Besides having a new boss, a lot of KAH in the HQ are new too! Well i guess this is the trend in this organisation. people come and go. old ideas became new ideas. jobs generated remained unaccomplished. the turnover rate is just too fast for anyone to get accustomed, learn and bring forward. But i think i shouldn't be too bothered by this, cos after all, i am collecting allowrance, not salary. Despite the fact that we will be getting quite a lot of shit with this new reshuffle plan, the green countdown clock on my left is ticking and i know one day it will strike zero!
Nonetheless, i must agree that this one year is quite a fruitful and unforgetable one. something quite different from what i will be doing for the rest of my life. and i don't think i can complain joining this branch. Thanks to all the people around me whom i have lunch with, tok cock with, "wormed" around with - be it in the branch or within the HQ. u guys really make the life different!
